Meet Your VA
Here at your green VA, we are dedicated to living & working GREEN and hope that you are too! By working virtually we are able to cut down on fuel consumption (as well as the stress that comes from commuting) and also save on paper and office supplies, since most everything is kept securely online instead of in a file cabinet.
Let me introduce myself, my name is Rebecca Emerson and I am the owner of your green VA. I have acquired a vast amount of skills working in Corporate America as well as honed the ability to pick up new programs quickly
and I am now able to offer those skills to small companies and entrepreneurs who appreciate them. Let me give you a brief background to give you an idea of what skills I have acquired so you can see how they might benefit your business.
After taking administrative based classes in high school, then accounting classes at the local community college, I commenced doing administrative and accounting work. I found that accounting came naturally to me so I pursued jobs that involved accounting. I have run an embroidery plant in Virginia being responsible for Profit & Loss, all daily running of the plant and office, receiving, billing and quality control. I worked as an accounting manager (which replaced the company’s controller) for a Buy Here Pay Here Used Car Lot and most recently all aspects of administrative and accounting for a Sign Company with a Graphics Division, this included print and internet marketing.
I started my original business, Emerson Farms, in 2000 to make a little extra money on the side doing web design (believe it or not I used to design entire sites using nothing but html!). I have also bred, raised and trained my own horses as well as dogs over the years.
I moved to the country in 2005 to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and as a result decided to branch out into freelance administrative and accounting. My first full time client was a pool company out of South Florida and he is still a client today. I did some work for a VA firm for a short time then set out on my own when I realized that I was under appreciated and underpaid. I have made a point to try and keep up with all the new technology, and let me tell ya, this can be challenging cause by the time you learn what’s new today something else comes out. It’s a never ending cycle, but fun to follow along with none the less.
I look forward to using the skills I have learned through schooling and work experience to help you improve your business and I hope that you will use the green tips I will be sharing to help the environment and go GREEN in life as well as business!
Wishing you all the best!
ps. I am an Online Business Manager & Technical Virtual Consultant with a vast amount of skills learned over the years. From basic office skills up to programming and most everything in between, and if there is something out there that we haven’t done we can become as efficient at the new task as we are at the old.
For any services we do not offer, we do have references available for other virtual assistants and freelancers. So feel free to contact us even if we don’t offer what you are looking for.
